During the 2025 legislative session, the House Constitutional Laws Subcommittee held a hearing on H. 3457, a dangerous total abortion ban. VOICE members testified at the hearing, urging lawmakers to reject the bill. Although it received attention in the subcommittee, the bill ultimately failed to move forward. When the legislative session adjourned in May 2025, H. 3457 had not advanced out of committee.

Hello, my name is ____________, and I live in __________________.
I'm calling to urge Senator [Last Name] to vote NO on Senate Bill 323. This bill is extreme, cruel, and dangerous for women and girls in South Carolina.
As one mother testified earlier this year, "No loving parent would stand by and watch their child be forced to endure nine more months of trauma after rape. And yet, that is exactly what these laws are demanding of families."
SB 323 goes too far. It endangers survivors of rape and incest, criminalizes compassion, and risks women's health in medical emergencies. Please do the right thing and oppose this bill. Thank you for your time.
If you cannot attend, you can watch the hearing either via the statehouse website: https://www.scstatehouse.gov/ or the mobile app SC Legislature. On the SC statehouse website's homepage, there will be a listing of each day's hearings along the righthand side of the page, just click the video link to watch the hearing. To watch via smartphones using the mobile app, viewers will need to download the app in the Apple app store or Google Play store. The app is called SC Legislature. Once downloaded, there's an icon at the bottom of the screen that says "video" all hearings will be listed there.
